Mary Franssen was the fisherwoman of the trip, alongside is husband Adrian Franssen. They were on an OutdoorsWeekly.com sponsored trip to Cardon Adventure Resort and Serena Marina and Golf Residences in Mazatlan, Mexico.

Adrian and I were blessed with the best vacation ever in Mazatlan. Two of the days we did salt water fishing. The first day we took in 1-40# mahi mahi and a 1-50# mako shark. The second day we brought in 1-45# mahi mahi (which we brought some home, mmmmm good). When we would come in for the day, they would clean it, bring to the chef and he would prepare food - so awesome. We also spent two days on freshwater fishing - we both seemed to enjoy this part of the trip the best. We must of caught roughly about 200 bass. Weight was on an average of 3 to 5 pounds - incredible. I was blessed on the last day, last cast with a 11# largemouth (see cover shot in the March 2010 issue). It was 24 1/2" long, the girth was 19" round - unbelievable. It was so fun, so beautiful, so awesome. -- Mary Franssen
