Mary Franssen and husband Adrian Franssen were on an OutdoorsWeekly.com sponsored trip to Cardon Adventure Resort and Serena Marina and Golf Residences in Mazatlan, Mexico.

Adrian and I were blessed with the best vacation ever in Mazatlan. Two of the days we did salt water fishing. The first day we took in 1-40# mahi mahi and a 1-50# mako shark. The second day we brought in 1-45# mahi mahi (which we brought some home, mmmmm good). When we would come in for the day, they would clean it, bring to the chef and he would prepare food - so awesome. We also spent two days on freshwater fishing - we both seemed to enjoy this part of the trip the best. We must of caught roughly about 200 bass. Weight was on an average of 3 to 5 pounds - incredible. I was blessed on the last day, last cast with a 11# largemouth (pictured). It was 24 1/2" long, the girth was 19" round - unbelievable. It was so fun, so beautiful, so awesome. -- Mary Franssen
