Outdoors Weekly Put 'em on Ice entry
Aaron Mihalek landed this 29-1/2-inch brown trout on the Chequamegon Bay in Ashland, WI on December 31. The fish was caught on tip-up baited with a single hook and a sucker minnow. It took two attempts to catch the fish as the first flag went up and nothing was home, so Aaron and his dad pulled the bait up, checked the minnow, and put it back down on the bottom. Only seconds later the fish hit again and the battle was on!
