No fish tales here, the proof is in the pictures!
Bruce (above) & Patty Ternes of Rockford, MN had some of the best fishing they can remember this opening weekend in the 10-plus years they have been frequenting Lake of the Woods. Patty holds a 28-inch, 9-pound walleye, caught in 4-Mile Bay, using a lead head jig and a frozen shiner minnow. Other guests told us it was the best fishing they have had in 15 years! Reports of catching and releasing many, many fish 25, 27, 29, 32 inch fish came in steady. We even heard some reports of a 33-inch walleye caught.
