Minnesota Opener 2007 wasn’t the best for us but over second weekend Lee Olmschenk with his Son Zachary, age 6, shot this nice 8-pt buck. Zach was sleeping when dad shot the buck but was very excited when they walked up to it. PICTURED: Third weekend also proved to be beneficial when Bill Olmschenk (myself) and My Grandpa Leo Olmschenk shot these 8-point bucks. All deer were taken south of Bemidji, MN in Zone 1. It was the first buck I bagged in 7 years so I was definitely excited. Seeing my nephew Zachary with the deer by his dad was pretty incredible as well. Zachary has got some great stories to tell of how big the deer is and how his dad is the greatest hunter ever.
